'Additionality of Public Funding in Microfinance'
'Additionality of Public Funding in Microfinance'
NPM and The Netherlands Government have commissioned a desk study on 'Additionality of Public Funding in Microfinance'. Purpose was to analyse to what extent microfinance institutions (MFIs) are dependent on Dutch public funding, and how Dutch public funding could justly play its complementary role (vis-a-vis private funding) in the industry. The study serves as input to the Netherlands Government's policy debate on the best use of public funds and other instruments in supporting the MF sector abroad.
The report's methodology is to define current main classification models that would help determining which type or class of MFI no longer needs public funding. TriodosFacet carried out the study in fall 2007. The full report can be found here (to click).
