Triodos Bank

Since 1994 Triodos Bank has contributed its unique expertise in sustainable banking to the microfinance sector. Triodos International Fund Management manages three microfinance funds: Triodos-Doen, Hivos-Triodos Fund and Triodos Fair Share Fund. Triodos Fair Share Fund is one of the first private investments funds in the microfinance sector and is open for Dutch investors. 

The microfinance funds aim to give poor people in developing countries or countries in transition access to financial services by contributing to a sustainable financial infrastructure. The funds have chosen to realise this by offering (syndicated) loans and equity to microfinance institutions, and trade finance to producers’ organisations with Fair Trade and/or organic certification. All funds wish to encourage the provision of microfinance and trade finance in such a way that this is a professional, feasible and (in the long run) financially sustainable activity.
